What's the point of any type of debate?

People of rational bent will have their understandings of the power of logic and science to find the truth validated, and people of irrational, superstitious, and filled with the "infallibility of doctrine" obtained by reading an ancient goat herder books will also find their faith reinforced, everyone wins.

Some people get cranky though if they hear their superstitions questioned (Bob, its starting to sound like you?), but its OK, they cant go and burn questioners any more, the dark ages practices of imprisoning scientists for demonstrating the truth is frowned upon.

In a battle of knowledge vs ignorance, you'd think the stronger argument would win, wouldnt you? Some people will hear things for the first time, and if nothing else, seeing two people who wont take no for an answer should be entertaining.

Who's Lane again?

Zombie Jesus who sort of came back from the dead...

Away in a graveyard, a stone overhead
The zombie lord Jesus is raised from the dead
The bones and the corpses are at his command
And rise like their master to swarm o'er the land!
The women are screaming, then running away
Poor Mary and Martha are gnawed where they lay
I fear thee, lord Jesus, your curséd undeath
With worms in your bowels and rot on your breath.
Have mercy, lord Jesus, don't eat me today
Next year I'll be bigger, I promise! I pray
Some shaman or rabbi or priestess or such
Will stake you and save us from your deadly touch.

I know Bible literalists apologists have their explanations, but they are ultimately just band aids over bull sh!t.
