Response to oh yes, I've heard this.

The Earth has a moving crust (tectonic plates) floating on a molten core. It is subject to gravity from various bodies and internal pressures. In times past it has been subject to strikes from objects in space, volcanoes, earthquakes, floods and all sorts of weather fluctuations. Even in the absence of "immoral" beings walking the Earth, making "God" wrathful. happy.gif

Sometimes the simple, natural explanation makes more sense. And is far more likely to be correct.

On edit. I would hazard to guess that Mr Sapien was simply playing Fundy's advocate. Knowing him for many years now, I'm 99% certain this is the case. His "views" were only meant to elicit responses, and were not reflective of his true beliefs.
