Obviously, no one knows for sure what someone said 2000 years ago, since there are no eyewitnesses and no recording equipment. And we don't even know for sure if Jesus actually existed, beyond the Bible record and a few anecdotal extra-Biblical accounts. There are certainly no physical remains to examine, or artifacts like those found in King Tut's tomb.

So, beyond the wording of the title, did you actually read what I wrote? Let me help:

Or what was said about him by the writers of the gospels? The latest gospel, John, was completed about 60 years after his death, and the opening verses claim his deity. It's totally fine if you disbelieve the Bible, but to keep stating that there is nothing in the Bible about the deity of Christ, or that all of those references were edited in hundreds of years later is intellectually dishonest. If you would rather not know what the text specifically says, that's fine too - but to keep claiming it isn't there in the text is completely inaccurate, and a little silly. =) I've taken several courses in mythology, and if you claimed nowhere is it recorded that Athena sprang from Zeus' head full-grown and in full armor, I could show you exactly where that event is recorded. Even if you believe the Bible is fiction, there is scholarship involved.

Now...what I was talking about was what is written in the Bible -- what was recorded that Jesus said, and what was recorded to have been said about him in that book. Whether or not you believe the Bible is valid, true, or accurate. Does that help to clarify? =)

Something tells me...no probably not. But that's just my opinion I confidently believe is true. I won't assume or state it is a fact that this will not clarify things, because that would be..."sheer arrogance". =D
