I often ridicule the ridiculous. And this "discussion" certainly meets that criteria - in my confident belief and opinion, not arrogantly stated as fact, of course.
So, when you consider something ridiculous, you ridicule it, often too - and consider it warrented to do so. Okay, if you say so.
Let's consider the implications here:
You thus often encounter what you consider ridiculous. Why's that? Do you look for it or does it just so happen to come your way, often?
And why is that then? Are you a ridiculous magnet or something?
And when people are having a discussion of which you happen to be a participant, who gets to decide 1) it is ridiculous 2) it is warranted to ridicule it? You, and you alone? What about the other participants, do they have a say in the matter, or do you consider that to be a ridiculous notion too?
Interesting contemplations, no?
Here's another ... you consider this discussion meeting the criteria of "ridiculous". You are part of this discussion too. Now what?
As for cookie recipes .... I think that some of them are ridiculously yummy. No really. The cookies that are derived from them aren't always as ridiculously yummy as those recipes sound though. Pity uh?

rejected and denied by many, accepted and embraced by few : falsifiability
- it is not what we (think we) know that matters, it is what we can show true that does
as the maxim demands; truth is demonstrably fact and fact is demonstrably true
everything else ... mere BS -
