Jesus wasn't what the Jews expected Him to be, and politically the Jews were disappointed, but the people who personally knew Jesus understood Jesus much better.

Jesus wasn't what SOME of the Jews were expecting.
And, Politically...
The Pharisees and the Sadducees were perfectly content with the status quo.

The Essenes, on the other hand, wanted their Temple Back...
And...
They wanted the Roman Oppressors of Israel to be Gone from their land.
Jesus was Exactly what those Jews were expecting.
And...
Nobody knew him better than the Essenes.
