I really don't know about the politicians. I wouldn't say there are a
majority of them that are working toward a one-world government, not in any total sense. I think most people support the UN, which is an important way for us to at least try to communicate with one another, and to work together to sanction another country that has gone too far, like has committed grave human rights violations. But I don't doubt that there are some politicians with the ambition toward a one world government. I just don't see them succeeding.
The financial mess, I have no idea how that will get sorted out. The Europeans seemed to have a good thing going for a while with the Euro. When we went to Ireland in 2005 prices were quite high for us, it was really strong against the American dollar. But now it seems to be all falling apart. Even the Scandinavians are starting to feel it now.

I just found an interesting site, about where our tax dollars go as Americans. It says that only about 5.92% of our total budget goes to interest on the national debt. I thought for sure it would be much higher.
