It may not be possible to travel faster than the speed of light. According to Einstein's theories of relativity, it would take infinite energy to reach the speed of light. If this is true, then going faster than the speed of light is impossible.
However, there may be shortcuts around the speed of light. Wormholes, etc...

No, the star would be dead. However, on Earth, the light would still be in transit, so you wouldn't know the star had died yet.

No, because the laser light had not yet made it to the Sun.

The laser light would still be transiting, and would reach the sun in 2 more minutes.
Time is RELATIVE, depending on where you happen to be, and how fast you happen to be going.

Sure we understand them. At least about Black Holes. We understand black holes mathematically just fine. And black holes were predicted many decades before the first one was discovered.

Absolute proof only exists in logic and mathematics. No one has ever seen a black hole because no light can escape from it. But you can see the effects the black hole is having on the space/time continuum around the black hole.
Have you ever seen a gravitational field? Do you deny gravity?
