You know how threads go... one thing leads to another. 
The discussion is about...
- Where do folks think those "good things" and desire to do good things comes from?
Good question. I think they come from inside the person, and is a reflection of their character. Good people do good things, bad people do bad things. Religion is irrelevant... except that it has a track record of making good people do evil things.
- If we separated the religious rhetoric, and stuck to that list of "good things", would believers and non-believers be closer in what they believe & value than they might think?
I believe the agreement between Kate and myself validates that point. When you take religion out of the picture, good people are good for good reasons.
