Hold on there! What is wrong with ENVIRON?by Clippy (Login burger2227)
It works in QB64 just like DOS. In fact XP added to the list even more. My Opening Menu that now uses RUN finds the first name of a user if the data file is empty. It creates the file too and puts the name into it.
It even shows my sound card and my Blaster settings. There are over 30 categories on mine. Way more than my 98 version which can be found inside of the "PROMPT" string. I bet Vista has more.
