The newer b42's have synthetic seals, I got mine a couple months ago and I like it. Its not as good as my b19 but its ok. It was chronoed at about 560 in .22 while it was dieseling lightly, maybe 540 area without? With open sites I can get a 3 shot ragged hole group from 15 yards pretty easily. At 23 yards and offhand it opened up to 3/4"s. It has enough power for hunting out to 30 yards or so, it carries about 9.5 fpe which aint bad for a $35 airgun. If your going with a qb78, Id suggest you get it in .22 caliber. In co2 and Pcp the .22 has a huge advantage over the .177, shoots the .22's with much more energy than the .177.
