Never had one really, so I can't comment on it much...

but as far as the spring goes, the maccarri spring will last longer than stock, but that is just a very small part of getting the gun to shoot accurate and smooth. The others are : Lubes, seals, deburring, etc. How much is the 97? You may be able to find a much higher quality gun for the same money.
