      we had a poll on this some time ago and perhaps before you joined the WRF. I think the fans wanted Sayers and Vaughan to open but most of us knew deep down that Vaughan was always going to be at 3 in the order (Englands orders).

      i am not sure Rudy has actually stated that he wants to open either but as the senior player he has probably accepted responsibility and just got on with it. As he sits in the taunton dressing room this afternoon out second ball in the second innings I suspect his thoughts may differ from 24 hours ago!
