But Hirst's season was one of the greatest in the history of cricket - never mind the history of Yorkshire! Perhaps it's simply that more people remember Boycott's season...
....it doesn't really matter about the votes. The good thing about these polls is the comments and discussions in the threads. The great Umpire in the sky knows who voted for what and justice will be done.
It's voting day here in Biliran Island. 20p and 50p notes are not available as the politicians have cornered the market in them to bribe the voters. All the sick people in hospital have gone home for a day to collect their voting money. The people running for Mayor of Naval will have parted with about £100,000 each in bribes to try to get a post that pays £350 a month for four years. The last winner (by 39 votes) celebrated with his party all night only to find that a Comelec official had discovered an uncounted ballot box with 45 votes for his opponent. (Comelec is the overseeing body for fair elections.) The bribe for this 'service' was only £300. Eventually it came to court and the result was overturned, only for the plaintiff to be assassinated by one of the Mayor's bodyguards. Anyone fancy a holiday here?
