While walking my dog the other night, I bumped into Andrew Gale out on a training run! At least one member of our team intends to be fit and ready for the new season.
Has anyone spotted any other players finding ways to occupy themselves during the close season..?

Thanks for this, Steve. A great pick-me-up after a season of travails.

Interesting and pleasing. To my eye Gale always looks one of the least athletic and (to be honest) unfit members of the team. Good to hear.

While Rashid and Wainwight were settling to the task at Sussex I saw Gale and Rudolph taking on Lyth and Bairstow at football tennis in the training area. To my eye they all appeared to be very fit and have good ball skills. Gale may not lok quite as athletic as his opponents but played very much like a badminton player, dominating the net.

Gale is (along with McGrath) our lease agile fielder so its good that he's trying to improve his fitness

In hindsight, he might have been sprinting to the Indian Takeaway at the top of the hill....

This must mean he's earmarked for a middle order spot next season. I doubt Moxon will have told any of our openers they need to put in stamina work...

It isn't just Gale's fitness that lets him down in the field. It's his apparent 'can't be bothered' attitude at times. 'Shall I chase that cover drive and dive on it just before it reaches the rope, thereby saving a run? No, can't be bothered.' There's at least one or two per session.

Far too harsh.

I think you can criticise his concentration but not his effort..
