Friends Provident Trophy draw for 2009:

Group A: Ireland, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Worcestershire, Leicestershire.

Group B: Scotland, Warwickshire, Kent, Somerset, Middlesex.

Group C: Surrey, Durham, Gloucestershire, Yorkshire, Sussex.

Group D: Essex, Glamorgan, Lancashire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire


Is it too early to refer to it as the "Group of Death"?

How the hell did they get that, can't be seeded and obviously not regional anymore.

And of course it include ****** Durham ... its seems to be a rule that Yorks must play Durham every other week between April & July

3 of last years qfs in the same group and the Pro-40 Division one winners. Essex have a nicy easy passage to the qfs again. It s going to be tough to qaulify from our group with no easy teams.

They could have regionalised it I was hoping for a trip to Chessie if they would have played Derbyshire.

We will play them at least 8 times next year!

<Pedant mode> We will play Durham a minimum of 7 times in 2009 .... 2 each in the FPT, Championship & 20/20 but only once in the Pro40 </Pedant Mode>
