Was the Stanford an official match?

I notice that neither Cricinfo or the Cricket Archive have added the Stanford fiasco to England's playing record.

Is it not an "official" match per se?

I wonder if Wisden or the Playfair Cricket Annual will include the result in their respective 2009 editions?

Who did England play officially? Stanford might be able to buy many things but he can't buy official status. We didn't play against the West Indies, we played against a private enterprise for the sole purpose of money and it may get a footnote in Wisden as a novelty eitem simply because of the money involved but official it wasn't.
