Today's FLASHBACK is regarded by many as the greatest pre-20th century Yorkshire fast bowler. None other than W.G. Grace stated that 'he was the finest bowler I have ever played against.'

Has anyone seen any research or writing that rates our best pre-20th players? A sort of 1800's all- Yorkshire team.

Some contenders: Thomas Armitage, Bill Bates,Jack Brown (retired in 1904), Tom Emmett, Louis Hall, Lord Hawke (Captain), Ephraim Lockwood, Edmund Peate, Bobby Peel, George Ulyett, Ted Wainwright (retired in 1902)
