Presumably lead to victory by Freddie the VI of the Flintstone family. |

"I feel very excited and privileged to be given the opportunity to work for the county I grew up supporting," said Moores
sounds a bit like Adams said a couple of year ago and we know where that one ended up |

wouldn't it have been hilarious if Moores had been appointed coach at Hampshire instead? |

I quess we can rule out Lancashire for the title now they have appointed the loser Moore as coach. How suprising, that Moores states he "always wanted to go to Lancs", and England and Sussex and anywhere else who would be dumb enough to appoint him. |

A blatant abuse of your (non) powers of prediction!!
At least we now know who to blame if the unthinkable happens and Chokers CCC finally end their drought.
If I were a Lancashire fan, (apart from having 6 fingers and sleeping with my sister) I would be feeling slightly optimistic about the forthcoming season. |

At least they didn't appoint Byas and seal their relegation before the start of the season.

Can I remind certain posters that Moores was coach of some south coast county that did rather well when he was there |

Quite right dpressed although...
I am not sure I can recall Moores bowling leg spinners galore and taking almost 100 wickets for a few seasons in a row.
Sorry, but I am in the Shane Warne camp to some extent - 'The coach is what you get on to go to the ground'.
I think Sussex's success was sadly more down to our friend Mr Adams rather than Moores. And it hurts me to say this as i write it! |

I think Moores is getting a bit of unfair press. Yes it is easy to say Sussex were a one-man team for a few years, but you still need a bit more than that to win the championship.
Following Duncan Fletcher was never going to be easy for anybody. Steve McClaren was in a similar no-win situation with the football team but he is still a very good club coach. I hate to say this but I think with the England experience behind him, Moores may be the missing link that the chokers need.
Think I may go undercover onto a LCCC forum to see what the half-wits think about him... | |
