That should confuse the opposition....

It's the webcam....

March 29 2009, 2:07 PM

The colours coming out of the webcam are all to pot. It's green grass, very green ideed and the contractors seem to be really cracking on this weekend!

Golden Brown perhaps?

Indeed

Golden Brown. (I always thought the next line was "Like my Manchura" but I have no idea what a Manchura might be)..

I'd like to welcome Jo Guest to the Forum. Loving your work. (I gather you're a big influence on the Home Secretary's husband..)

It still looks very brown to me , but all the other colours on the webcam seem accurate...

Just checked & it looks like the Webcam is playing up again. The Blue seats are OK ... but the square appears brown ... unless someone has removed the grass that was there in the last few days it proves that green is missing from the pictures

locals?

March 30 2009, 11:00 AM

perhaps we could send a spy who lives or works near the gorund to have a look in and see whats really happening

Who knows - maybe the webcam is actually not 'live' at all and is merely a video recording of the gorund in Dubai or Antigua.

Its all a Yorkshire cover up to justify to the RCB that we have spent their money on the ground refurb and new drainage system but really nothing has happened at all and we have just pocketed the money so as to send 25 players on the pre-season tour to Dubai!

Admittedly it's not a lush green, probably because Mr Buttler bought a webcam for £2.99 off eBay (and good for him if he did).

But I wouldn't describe it as brown, as there is definitely a green tinge (at least on my computer screen).

The first match at Headingley is 3 weeks on Sunday, so plenty of time left.

Yours Optimistically

YC

Grey

March 30 2009, 12:43 PM

It looks grey on the web-cam feed on my pc. It shows the correct colour on the photos from a seperate article on the official site. Will be at Headingley next week so should all be down by then.

They had a report & some pictures of the relaying on Look North tonight. The grass certainly looked green. I suspect the Web cam needs looking at again. The report said that with decent weather the job would be finished 'by the weekend' & that the grass was binding well

Green

the photos on the official site (as opposed to the webcam) show nice lush green colour so think James just needs to climb on top pf the rugby stand and give the webcam lens a wipe clean

I nipped over to Headingley yesterday, and the outfield is looking great. As someone who has been involved in "gardening" at the commercial level, I can assure you things are going to schedule, and that matches will proceed on time.

I find the idea of someone nipping over from Middlesbrough to Headingley just to contemplate the colour of the outfield to be dedication of the highest order. If there were a "fan of the season" award, it would, in my opinion, already have been won.

I'm only surprised that the club haven't embraced this commercial opportunity and started charging for tickets to watch the grass literally grow in front of your very eyes.
It's only slightly less shameless than charging a non-returnable ammount for a day's play that is unlikely to take place..

Steve - I've lost count of the number of posts where you've managed to get that particular gripe in. But I salute your creativity and hope the club listens.

I'm still waiting for an answer on the one about members having a 'window of opportunity' to buy discounted FPT 1/4 final tickets (that I thought were included in my 'all home games' membership), when the final qualifying match is on a Wednesday, and the 1/4 finals are 3 days later on the Saturday. And the Headingley ODI is on in between, so the staff may be busy.

April 2 2009, 5:53 PM

We could always do what we did as kids. Just have one set of stumps at the Rugby Stand end and bowl all overs from t'other end.

Although Matt Prior might not be too impressed to see the boundary rope that near to him.

Is the webcam broken, or is the club just tired of the arm-chair experts making daily comments? Seems like a long time now that the cam has been inactive.

April 11 2009, 1:23 PM

The webcam appears to have disappeared altogether. Too bad, I logged on to the official site nearly every day to watch the proceedings. I'm sure I wasn't the only one. Has it been "turned off" or is it out of order?
