I was in Leeds last weekend visiting the folks and deliberately stayed with my brother who lives round the corner from Headingley. On Sat morning I popped in to the ticket shop to pick up my yearbook only to find it closed. But Ashley Metcalfe was more than helpful, took my details and my voucher and promised to post me said handbook which duly arrived this week!
It was only a little thing - but it was very customer focused, did involve bending protocol (members to pick up handbook) and expense (time, postage etc). And as a result I was very grateful!

Seriously. Thanks for sharing that tale. It's good to give praise where and when it's due..
Thanks for this "Exiledtykeinsussex." Much apreciated.
I've also had generally excellent personal experiences with the club.
One in particular comes to mind, although it is a bit dated. Back in the mid 70's I inquired from Canada as to whether the club sold "part-time" memberships, since our family holidays involved a trip to England in early August of that year. A few days later, and much to my surprise, a complimentary membership package arrived in my post box. That kindness left quite an impression on a young cricket fan, and I'm sure it played a part in my deciding to get involved in the WRF when the opportunity arose back in 1999.
Another time in the early 1980's I was watching a match at Bradford Park Avenue, and during the lunch break I noticed a couple of players (Bairstow and Kevin Sharp) chatting with some fans. I summoned up the nerve to ask them for their autographs, using my "just visiting from Canada" cachet.
Sharp disappeared into the dressing room and about 10 minutes later a fully autographed program was brought back to me by someone called...Geoffrey Boycott!
