Another year, another season. Birds are singing and you can almost smell the linseed in the air.
This is as good as it ever gets - the thrill of optimistic expectation and joy from being alive and in the glorious open air. Before the disillusionment and disappointment settle in during early May.
If I can spend an afternoon watching Michael Vaughan despatch the ball to the extra cover boundary I'll be a happy man.
