Please note that we've now been informed that Yorkshire are to start FPT home games at 10:45 rather than 12. Sorry for any confusion ... but I was only passing on information from the club ..... which was originally wrong ..... I hope.
This Sunday's game at Durham is a 12:00 start ... or that's what Durham told one of their members by email
I will try and shed some light on the start time for FP matches.
Prior to last year they were 10.45 a.m then they were changed to 12.00 but this caused problems with bad light at the end of matches.
This season it states in our members booklet, 10.45 starts for all matches, however there is a rider stating that start times, if they so wish, can be amended by the clubs, for individual games to 12.00 noon. So some matches will start at 12.00 and some at 10.45. Our match next Sunday v Durham starts at 12.00 and the one the following week at home v Sussex starts at 10.45. Cricinfo, the BBC and the YCC site all seem to be up to date now with the correct start times after originally showing a standard 10.45 start time for all games.
IMO, 10.45 is a more sensible start time, as it avoids the bad light problems at the end of the day and gives the extra 75 minutes flexibility to complete the game if rain intervenes.
