Snow at Headingley in late April? Not inconceivable.
Must be this new special turf we have just laid - a red ball on white turf is better for the TV cameras - I think Stanford suggested it a few months back....
dont judge the lack of crowd today. the weather forecast was awful and we were lucky to get any cricket at all. not many people outside leeds will have travelled.
Remember that the stands that you can see in the webcam picture are currently closed. That may explain why you couldn't see any spectators sat there yesterday! For a Tuesday in April with a dodgy weather forecast, I thought the crowd was quite good.
Just notices Marker's post from yesterday ... even though the forecast wasn't good I though the crowd was a bit poor .... & I can certainly deny the thought that all of us attendees live in Leeds. Admittedly out North East member didn't turn up (he was there today) ... but most of the rest of our group who did bother had to travel.
Although we now know that there are some problems between the turf and the soil, the outfield looks to be in good condition. The dark patches are footmarks on a practice pitch at the edge of the square and nothing to worry about.
Not sure it's really worth it, Karl. At the moment you can see some dim figures apparently playing a match in the snow. If it melts, please let us know.
The webcam seems to have gone the way of "The Captain's Blog" (Tony McGrath) and the WRTV match day highlights. Good ideas, which didn't pan out, or have been discontinued.
Thank, James. We always appreciate your updates and comments. I for one, really enjoyed the webcam. It was a tangible way to connect with the club from afar. I hope it will be back "in action" ASAP.
I agree. But if ever you wanted the webcam to be up and running it would be for an Ashes test match.
I'm disappointed the club can't get these sorts of things right. Along with WRTV, the so-called Captain's Blog and the often out-of-date "players with physio," the club has had an indifferent season both on and off the field.
