The Other Worcestershire Match

"FLASHBACK | May 7, 1900 - In an extraordinary match at Bradford Park Avenue, Yorkshire were bowled for 99 yet beat Worcestershire by an innings."

Does anyone know the background to this? Presumably it was a hell of a pitch, but all that Anthony Woodhouse's second-rate History of YCCC (sorry; he was a decent and brave chap) gives this remarkable result is six and a half lines, really just summing up the scorecard.

Over in one day, with Haigh taking 7-49 and Rhodes 11-36. Alert the pitch inspectors!

Good point. It's likely that many of the "great" matches of the past involved tracks and fields that would have been referred to the pitch inspectors based on today's expectations and "standards."
