listening to matthew hoggard on tms today, someone referred to yorkshire buying the ground. hoggy said that is not true, all we own is the grass in the middle. we still pay rent to mr caddick for all the surrounds. i was a bit upset by this.
If that's true then ''Yorkshire Water'' owned nearly as much of the pitch as ''Yorkshire CC'' today. Not even Chris Lewis would have bought the excuse that was todays grass.
Interesting chat on TMS today, Hoggy also informed listeners that masturbation is illegal in Thailand (I think he said Thailand, it may have been another country) and that it could be punished with decapitation.
Hoggy should stick to what he used to be good at i.e. cricket! If he had attended the last AGM he would have heard Graves & Regan outlining the development plans - this involved making the final payment for the purchase of the entire cricket ground including buying him out of the Wintershed.
At the roadshow in Brighouse, Stewart Regan told us that the only areas where Caddick still had an interest were the current Pavilion (which he owns outright), the hotel, which was leased to him and the catering and beer sales which he has under contract from the club. The Rugby Stand is owned 50 / 50 by cricket and rugby.
Plus one or two oddities- at least as I understand it a) the current freehold boundary at the rugby stand end runs in front of the cricket seating and will only be changed when the stand is rebuilt; b)the boundary after the north east stand skirts the building, Caddick owns all of the car park and related space.
What we exactly own is getting less and less with every post. If Carnegie, Carrick, the rugby club and Yorkshire Water claim much more we'll have paid millions of pounds for a Hot Dog stall behind the Western Terrace and a set of drains that Dyno-rod couldn't unblock.
