Week 7 PreviewPreview: The Twenty/20 competition commences this week with 3 groups of 6 teams with the top
two in each group plus the two highest finishing third placed teams going through to the Quarter
Finals. An extra incentive this season for all teams is that the top 3 in each group will go into Division
One next year of the new twenty/20 league that is replacing the Pro-40 competition, and the rest
will go into Division Two.
In the Northern section are Yorkshire, Durham, Lancashire, Leics, Notts and Derbyshire. The Midlands
and West Group is made up of Warwicks, Worcs, Gloucs, Somerset, Glamorgan and Northants and the
Southern Group is comprised of Sussex, Hants, Essex, Surrey, Middlesex and Kent.
As I managed a 75% success rate with my Friends Provident QF predictions of Durham, Sussex, Notts, Hants,
Essex, Lancs, Kent, and Middlesex, I will stick with my predicted twenty/20 quarter-finalists from my
season previews which are Kent, Essex, Durham, Notts, Lancs, Somerset, Sussex and Gloucs. I am,
however, hopeful that Yorkshire can improve on their FP performances, upset the odds and reach the
quarter-finals perhaps at the expense of Lancashire by finishing 3rd in our group.
