A sorry end to an historic ground.

acklam park and middlesbrough cc are far from dead. a new clubhouse and dressing rooms have been built. the playing area moved slightly but still a very good standard. it looks much tidier with the new development at the green lane end. it is being used for first class 2nd team cricket when durham play yorkshire later in the season. durham being the home side. it is certainly not a dying club.

For the record..

I was there in June 1996 when we played our last First class game at the ground. In fact, in my house I have a ball which i retrieved from the outfield after the game had finished..
I'm saving it in the hope that one day someone will offer me quite huge and obscene ammounts of money for it.

Any proof it was a last day ball from Acklam Park, Steve? I believe you but without proof it could just as easily be the last ball that over bowled out WG Grace. I bet there's at least twenty seven of those hidden in attic's around Bristol.
