England v West Indies: Third one-day international
Venue: Edgbaston
Date: Tuesday, 26 May Start: 1045 BST
England (from): A Strauss (captain), R Bopara, M Prior (wkt), P Collingwood, E Morgan, O Shah, D Mascarenhas, G Swann, S Broad, J Anderson, T Bresnan, I Bell, R Sidebottom.
West Indies (from): C Gayle (captain), L Simmons, R Sarwan, S Chanderpaul, D Ramdin (wkt), D Bravo, K Pollard, S Benn, J Taylor, D Sammy, R Morton, F Edwards, L Baker.
"He (Flintoff) is behind schedule after surgery on right knee cartilage torn while playing in the Indian Premier League and the game today presents a last chance for Tim Bresnan, if he retains his place ahead of Ryan Sidebottom, to convince the selectors that he would be the best replacement on grounds of ability as well as continuity."

It has been difficult for Bressy to prove very much on the limited oppurtunities he has had against the Windies.I note that according to Sky he is listed to bat above Swann and Broad in the current game, but as there is only 1 wicket down after 28 overs I can't see him getting much time to press his case.

Further to my previous post Bresnan scored 9 off 7 balls, then holed out in a slog in the penultimate over. This will not have told the selectors anything that they should not already know about him.Let's hope he gets a decent bowl although he will be well down the pecking order.
