Week 12 PreviewBack to the CC this week with the three top sides in Division One all having home games.
Durham and Somerset appear to have the easier task as both Worcestershire and Yorkshire have
very poor records so far this season and both are without a win. Lancashire started of well but their
form has dipped in the CC of late, having lost their last 2 matches, so they need to get back on the
winning trail again. The good batting wicket at Taunton will probably mean a drawn game there and I
predict a draw at Trent Bridge and a Durham win.
In Division Two, the league leaders Gloucestershire travel to play Kent who are in 4th place.
Derbyshire play Leicestershire and there is the local derby between the two London based clubs.
I predict in this Division wins for Derbyshire, Kent and Surrey.
The Semi-finals of the FP competition take place on Sunday. Lancashire have home advantage against
Hants and Sussex play Gloucestershire at Hove. All the four sides look very evenly matched, and both
ties are difficult to call, but I will go for the two home clubs to progress through to the Final.
Also this week the England ladies play 4 1 day International matches against the Aussie ladies, there
is a 4 day match for the Aussies against the England Lions at Worcester, the England team have a 3
day warm up match v Warwickshire at Edgbaston and the Varsity match between Oxford and
Cambridge starts on Saturday.
