*** Somerset's 479-6 was the second highest successful run chase in 22,236 County Championship matches played over the 145-year history of the competition.

*** Three of the five highest second innings targets chased down by Yorkshire's opposition have occurred in the last four seasons.

*** The 1,606 runs scored in the match is the second most ever scored in a Yorkshire County Championship match - topped only by the 1,665 scored in the Warwicks match at Birmingham in 2002.

*** Yorkshire's team bowling average is now 43.80 per wicket.

*** Yorkshire has not bowled the opposition out twice in a match this season, and have taken 20 wickets in a match only 5 times in the last 35 matches over three seasons.

The chase was the 4th highest ever in first class cricket

As I've said elsewhere this is the first time EVER that Somerset have beaten Yorks twice in a championship season

On the only previous occassion that yesterday's total was exceeded to win a game in the 4th innings,Nottingamshire declared before the end of the second day(a 3-day match of course)and set Middlesex 502 to win.
Early on the last day Middlesex were reduced to 66-4 but eventually won by 4 wickets.
So which was the better achievment, given that Middlesex took 140 overs to reach their target, and Somerset only 85?
