And Trott (who?!)

August 4 2009, 2:13 PM

From the BBC

"England hand a shock call-up to Warwickshire batsman Jonathan Trott for the fourth Ashes Test against Australia which starts at Headingley on Friday."

See the tradition of calling up some totally unheard of player for Headingley lives on.

The selectors don't seem to get around much anymore. Trott of Warwickshire recommended by team coach Giles, who happens to be a selector as well! Must be tricky selecting just two batsmen who bat half their time on a pitch that hasn't produced a result since Bradman was a lad.

Mixed fortunes..

Poor Ryan was called up by England and immediately catapulted OUT of Lord Hawke's Revenge.... There's a third place to be secured and I can't have my star bowler carrying drinks at Headingley...

Jonathon or Albert?

Just ONCE - could we please have an England qualified batsman with an English accent?
