| From the TME:
"White, currently Yorkshires Second XI coach, has been earmarked by Warwickshires director of cricket Ashley Giles as the man to fill the gap left by Allan Donalds return to South Africa and he is understood to have had talks at Edgbaston." |

I'd be disappointed to see White go. I think he is a valuable member of the YCCC in several roles. But economics and the recession will likely win this one as well. |

From the results Craig is going a good job in charge of the 2nds ... so based on past experience we'll let him go |

To be fair to the club, Craig is captain of the 2nd XI, not the coach, though I have seen him dispensing technical advice to his charges. I suspect coaches earn more than 2nd XI captains and there may be difficult decisions to make if Yorkshire want to retain Craig in that capacity.
It was interesting to see how highly Ronnie Irani rated Steve Oldham the other day. Does anyone have any information on how Yorkshire's coaches are viewed by the other counties?

Nope, he's turned down the job. From the TMS website.
"Warwickshire have been forced to start their search for a new bowling coach all over again after former England all-rounder Craig White opted to stay with Yorkshire as second team coach." |

this is great news on several fronts.
First Chalky has strong links with Boof which may always come in handy.
Second he is clearly a positive influence on the younger players and whilst second team skipper at moment, if Giles could see him as a bowling coach then why don't we also see the same thing and get him to fill this role instead of Blain when Oldham retires.
Third it gives another county a problem to solve instead of us! |

I think Giles should look to see if Vaughan is interested in becoming Warwickshires bowling coach now Chalky has backed out. |

Call me cynical but I wonder if White had done the right thing for him. Craig is obviously do a great job with the 2nds .. hopefully things have changed ... but a few years ago this would mean that he's next for the chop. | |
