Who would have believed it? We are still going strong after a decade; and are now the
oldest county cricket club forum on the Internet. A little history: Link

Thanks for all of your help, suggestions, and support, and for the tens of thousands of
interesting, informed posts. And a special thanks to the WRF Committee, Stu Acton for
his timely weekly previews, Steve Cowton for his trenchant book reviews, James Buttler
for keeping us up-to-date on the latest YCCC news, and to Steve Draper for his wonderful
ongoing grounds guides series.

Happy anniversary and congrats to all involved in the success over the last 10 years.

Am I the only one a little concerned that the photo of our esteemed Moderator shows him in a red shirt, which is the usual colour associated with our arch enemy across the pennines?

Well done Alex - keep up the good work

Congratulations for surviving so long ... although I have to say it was touch and go when 'the loons' took over, probably for the 2003 season.

Good on the YCCC

It was very classy of the club to acknowledge the WRF anniversary.

Happy birthday

Well-deserved kudos to a wonderful forum. I've logged on every morning for nearly five years and wouldn't miss it. I've learned so much about cricket and Yorkshire cricket in particular. And even if we are a bit crotchety from time-to-time, in the end we do love and support the club through thick and thin.

Marsker's Question

November 11 2009, 3:48 PM

In answer to Marsker's question: "I only arrived at the site in 2006 . what were the loons all about. is the cleasby a relic or was it something different?" --

Alex is I'm sure the best person to answer this, but in the meantime I'll just say that during the time, if I remember correctly, of his predecessor Robert Agee, The Loons were one or more persons who bombarded the site with countless obscene, insulting or inane comments, along with general expressions of unrelenting hostility.

A correction

I believe the previous "owner" of the WRF was Robert Gee who worked at the University of Leeds. He is currently in the United States working in the field of network forensics.
