Shocking decision

Adam Lyth was NOT OUT. Was it the same umpire who didn't give the Notts opener out when it was closer than today's bad decision?

Now Joe

May 2 2016, 11:33 AM

Joe wasn't out either; the ball touched the ground first - slow down the coverage and watch it. Joe should have queried that decision. Go, Jonathan!

No decision to query - Joe walked.

Joe might have got away with it if he stood his ground, but he must have thought it carried if he walked off.

Whatever the state of the decisions, it's another top order collapse, so deja vu for Bairstow and the rest of our batting. I see Willey is down to come in at 9 by the scorecard - shows how long our batting is, though I'd hope he comes in ahead of Plunkett at least.

Shocking decision

And why did Gough look at the square leg umpire before giving Ballance out? It quite clearly carried to the keeper and the square leg umpire can't have seen whether Ballance nicked it or not. Has Gough lost confidence knowing he made a mistake with the Lyth decision?

Three wickets to three good balls even if the first wasn't out. Question is how many wickets do we burn before we see off the new ball?

Didn't see the Lyth one, but there did look some doubt about Root catch I must say.
Anyway, situation normal, let's get the 200-plus stand underway and get to 500 ASAP.

Yep looked like he got the nod from square leg for a regulation nick!

Very impressive bowling from Jake Ball.

Why the hell did he walk it bounced

maybe because Joe does not have the same commitment to the Yorkshire cause that Jonny has?

Even if he thought it was out, he cannot have been sure, had he got a 'bad' decision and given not out it would only have balanced the lyth decision.

Well, Barstow gone to left arm around, one bouncing a bit and might have been going down. Don't think I'd have given that.
Great to see Lees back batting as we know he can though - no curse I hope.

might have been going down?

doubt it would have hit a second set of stumps....look at the angle it was bowled at.

I revise the 'might have' - Peter's probably right on that one. No ball tracking on Sky sadly.
