Re: Sorry - stand aside...

I'm not there so as ususal speaking with the benefit of cricinfo, but I am not convinced that conditions were that bad for batting yesterday. Was 275 anything like par at a ground that is known for high scoring draws..

I don't want to tempt fate but Warwicks are going slowly but well. Eating up overs - with any luck denying Middx bowling bonus points.

So even if we end up drawing this game we could still end up in credit.

Worry how quickly Hampshire are scoring though. They could be well in credit by the end of the day and putting pressure on us tomorrow..

Hopefully that should slow them down.

When was the last time we had a close result, winning by just a few runs or a couple wickets?

Our Championship hopes are fading this afternoon with our lack of more wickets and Warwickshire collapsing sad.gif

If there ever was time for Rafiq to show his worth as bowler, it is now against these left handers .....so much for that hope, Gale has taken him off - never has had much faith in slow bowlers sad.gif

You just feel that our innings yesterday bucked the recent trend of high scores and normal service has been resumed today. It is hard to see these two getting out any time soon..

Oh yes! And brilliant too from Gale, whipping Rafiq out of the attack and bringing Sidebottom back wink.gif

Berg did his ex-cronies at Middx a favour with the ball, let's hope he doesn't do the same with his bat.

At tea then middx are 91 ahead having taken 6 wickets, and we are 73 ahead, having taken 7 wickets so far.

couldn't be much closer, middlesex have bowled 69 overs to our 58.

We are in fact 3 behind the rate. middx bowling spinners have bowled 3 overs more than required so far.

Well things looking up again after those two wickets - now have good chance of keeping them below our first innings score 😀 Yes, and well done Siddy and Gale for putting him back on before tea interval 😀

Well done Sidebottom, please never retire!

Feel momentum swung our way slightly now, lets keep pressure on and see how they respond.
