We don't have to increase our run rate too much in order to get full bonus points, if these two can get themselves in we should be able to do it without throwing wickets away. Anything around 500 would be nice. In the interest of having a peaceful forum can we please ban the "D" word, for this mornings session at least.

Drink?
Dunkirk?
Dillinger..?

I don't think the D word will be an issue today unless we're still batting at tea.
400 before 110 overs would be the first priority i think - and although slightly out of character i think it would be a reasonable and sensible target.

Cloudier and even muggier than it was yesterday this morning- suspect it may swing so 400 inside 110 overs and then bowling soon after may not be the worst outcome.

Looks like we're trying to see off Rushworth and Onions rather than going for the max batting points

Well we need 30 off five overs. Should be do-able if these two stay in you would think.

We look like missing fifth batting point by being over cautious but could still be all out for around 400. Maybe we missed chance last evening to press forwards when their bowlers were tired Ie last ten overs when Bres was very cautious. Never mind we are still in strong position to get 23 points from match 😀

Or maybe they're just playing Onions and Rushworth sensibly on a cloudy morning...absolutely no point in chucking wickets away. 23 points will put us top, Middlesex are still in bother.

This is where the batsmen whisper to Colly that they will give him a wicket to give him another bonus point if he lets us get to 400 in next three overs.

Don't tell me these chats don't exist

I don't think Colly would fall for that when he needs another three wickets for his next bonus point wink.gif

They crossed leaving Patterson on strike.

Hodd 9 off 33 today. Poor given the situation.

Playing out a maiden when you need 8 runs for a vital bonus point (not to mention only 2 off the preceding over) - you don't need to wait for Peter. That was pathetic and incomprehensible.

On the bright side, Middx are four down.

I'm not there so can't comment but I can only assume Onions didn't bowl 6 half volleys in the 110th over.

Am sure he didn't. But there are more ways of getting 8 off one over and 10 off 2 than hitting fours.
