Re: CHAMPIONSHIP | Yorkshire vs Durham at Leeds (Day 3)

Well done lads an excellent Mornings work! Even more so with a bowler light.

I personally would enforce the follow on but predict we wont.

I see Somerset have now come into the Championship fixture and will have to play for a win next week at Headingley, so be two cracking games to finish the season.

What a good morning, far better than we could have expected I think.

Not enforced the follow on.
Hope we up the run rate a bit and put them in before end of play today.

No follow on according to Twitter.

We must bat with intent and get them back in tonight for 45 minutes

Great morning, a performance of champions, hopefully get around 200 in 45 overs or so now & get 10-15 overs at them tonight

With lead already of almost 200 (which could be enough) we must be looking to build on it quickly and get them in again today.

We wouldn't have enforced with or without Patterson. Quick 180 and get back at them.

Seem to remember that we used the forecast in the last game to guide us wink.gif On that basis, the afternoon is set pretty fair - probably the best batting conditions of the day. So maybe the best time for us to bat? But we do need to make good progress for sure - you would want a decent bowl at them this evening

I'd want them facing more than 45 minutes worth tonight.

3 4s from Alex in that over certainly boosted the run rate

I said we'd bowl them out before lunch.
I'm happy to back Gale and Dizzy - i think we try and score 250 as quickly as possible and declare at about 4.30pm...

Yesterday Durham set off like a train. It took Patto (after his first over) to slow them down. Even without Steve I didn't think Gale would enforce the follow on, without him (Gale's safety blanket) there's no way we'd do it on the 3rd morning

Another brilliant mornings bowling by our amazing attack, and that with a bowler light!

I can see why gale has not enforced, but again do not agree. Sure we bat till 4.30, declare and get them at something like 30-3 at the end of the day....and then lose time to the weather tomorrow and again lyth will be cursing the weather as we again take a draw.

We took 5 wickets for less than 40 this morning, with a bowler short, who's to say we could not have done that this afternoon and won the game by tonight?

Are we so fearful of durham scoring 400 against our attack and our fragile batsmen getting skittled out for under 200 tomorrow?

Sure we should still win tomorrow if we get enough play, but thats a big if.

At first I was hoping we'd go for the follow on but since then it's really brightened up and the forecast for tomorrow just looks mainly cloudy now. Lees has also set off at a decent pace so as it stands not enforcing looks like the right decision.

And Durham went off like a train yesterday and maybe will do again ... and then we have no Patto to stem the flow so we use Siddy who breaks down and misses the last 2 games . 100 % right to bat again . 120% right ... and presumably gale also knows if Patto will be on the field tomorrow.

Is it just me or are Cally and DT completely losing the plot here? I'm sure entire overs have passed by without mention of what's happening on the field. So frustrating when you hear a loud appeal in the background and no mention from the "COMMENTators"

Not disagreeing Gary about Siddy's unique value but we should have Plunkett, Willey and Fisher as options for the last two matches. A quick bowler can breakdown anytime and even get injured fielding like Willey did 😀

If we lose a couple of wickets I wonder if Lehmann will come into bat ahead of Gale?

Cally and DT are like two blokes in a pub rambling on about anything, vaguely aware of a cricket match on the telly and remarking on it.

Marty is streets ahead and as for my hero Ken at the Rose Bowl.....
