Nearly Egham- he's just nicked Plunkett's third ball through the vacant third slip.

Allenby looked very edgy at first and had a comedy moment in breaking his bat in two but is looking more secure now unfortunately.

Siddy, as his figures attest, bowled a superb spell.

All ifs buts and maybes at the moment.
But maybe if we can get them out for another 100 we are still right in this game. Come on one last push!!!

Tres tried to divert a ball that was too close to him down to third man and only succeeded in playing it on to his stumps. Good quick spell from Liam.

Change of ends for Rash here, he bowled a terrible first over but has been better thereafter. Bresnan has looked poor, we're missing Patto's control alongside Plunkett and Rashid's wicket-taking ability.

Brooks, Bresnan, Plunkett and Rashid have so far bowled one maiden between them. Patto leaves a huge hole in the team.

It's often said that a player's stock rises when he isn't playing. Does anyone know how we go about renewing our Never Leave Out Patterson membership?

Runs flowing freely now that conditions have eased.
Looks a perfect batting day.

Have never understood Gale's use of spinners. Rashid bowls four tidy overs, getting into rhythm but then he is switched ends and bowls an expensive over - just to accommodate Bresnan? However, suppose he knows what he was trying to achieve 😟

These two playing positively and taking the game away from us at the moment. Trego particularly harsh on Rashid, who has bowled a load of garbage- 4/5 full tosses so far- to be fair.

How will we manage after Sidebottom retires - Trego was big danger.

I was just thinking the same about Siddy- he's been head and shoulders above the rest of our attack today.

Sidebottom recalled by ecb to tour bangladesh.

means we have to rest him next week.

Meanwhile, hameed told if he wants to go too, he had better not tire himself out at ot this week
