Reasonable start but feel Willey will get more swing when he gets on - hope Gale uses him next. Brooks bowling a better length that Siddy so far and should have a short leg.

Odd time to get your county cap as you come off at lunch after batting through the morning session. I would have let Gubbins get in for his lunch break and put his feet up and then present at the tea interval when he was dismissed and had nothing to do.

Dropped catches cost us from a perfect morning.

Listening to the sky boys, it's clear Rob Key reads the game better than Cork Allott etc.

And Gus Fraser must have the same relationship with Nancy the Lords tea lady that GATT used to have looking at the size of him these days.

Good, but should have been a lot better. Gubbins looking very good and has given just one chance and we put it down. They would have been 5 or 6 down by lunch if that had been taken. Probably a 100 now for him!!

The Sky guys just do not get it - they keep bleating on about us packing our side with seamers as being a plan. It was forced upon by three of our best batsmen being made not available. We had no other choice.

Feel that was an even morning session, if the 2 catches had been taken would have been enjoying my lunch a little more.

Where's the 2/1?

Think some of the traders at these firms unsure of how this works!

Skybet have Middlesex 5/4 to win this match, which would obviously guarantee the title.

Yet they have them 13/8 to win the championship. Clueless!

I'm glad I haven't been watching sky. I think all of us on this forum have could give the likes of Allott a run for his money on basic insight into the game.

I may have got this wrong but I thought that Malan and Gubbins were dropped? Anyone else?

So Malan didn't prove costly whereas Gubbins may do.

I suppose they are three down and could have been four down. Yes had Gubbins gone early we may have taken more wickets but we will never know. On the whole we would be happy with 3 down I would think. But would be nice to chip away a couple more before much longer.

Agree Dwight. The traders are clueless regarding odds. They had Somerset and Surrey both at 33-1 to win the CC two weeks ago despite Surrey, at the time, being over 24 points behind Middlesex with only 1 game left!!

I suspect they are either lazy or too grand to properly keep abreast of the county scene, but even that doesn't explain missing something that has been all over the papers and SSN over recent days.

Cork also said that if we had caught the two drops Middlesex would be 5 down. Well, yes, if we were allowed to get Malan out twice.

2/1 was with skybet, but it soon disappeared

the 5/4 for middx to win with sky is a bit daft when they now offer them to win the title at 13/8!

match odds with them are

middx 5/4
yorks 5/4
draw 7/4

if you are checking odds with oddschecker.com then they are quite often out of date, click on the odds and when being sent to the bookies site, surprise surprise the odds are different.

Does sid-don still stand by his belief that Plunkett play ahead of Brooks? Brooks's inclusion has already been fully vindicated. Maybe some of the other bowlers could take a couple of wickets each, as well....
