Paul Grayson named today as the new coach of the Diamonds in the T20.

Combines the role with his coaching of Durham MCCU.

Plenty of examples of that in many sports. Pyrah was fast-tracked into the coaching set up by Gillespie and Moxon. I suspect they knew what they were doing. I heard him talk during his benefit year and he was very impressive.

For those who worry - reasonably - about our white ball performance, he had some interesting things to say about that, almost the only area where he hinted at criticism of Dizzy's work. He felt that we tended to operate on a bit of a wing and a prayer, rather than having the clear plans to which the most successful sides operate.

Before Dizzy arrived the club didn't even have a prayer in T20.
