Another hard day in the field for north. You would have to say that the bowling looks weaker on paper - comes to something when Leaning gets a long bowl (and gets two wickets..)

Just like playing for Yorkshire

Poor old Tim, left trying to shepherd the tail to reach an unlikely total. He's been left in that position a few times. You'd love to see him pull it off but you know it just won't happen.

3rd match: déjà vu

A more achievable target this time, but it looks like the middle and late order just collapsed around him!

From a quick glance at the tour stats, it seems he's now the North's pre-eminent batting prospect. Could be a classic year ahead...

the north team thrashed 3 nil with only Tim Bresnan showing any resistance. nowhere near as bad as a yorkshire defeat but it still rankles when a south team is dominant. Mason Crane took 4 wickets for 1 run. Could he be pushing for Adil Rashids place?.

The article in The Guardian (www.theguardian.com/sport/2017/mar/21/north-south-match-report-mason-crane-liam-dawson) contains the line

Tim Bresnan showed what an estimable cricketer he is.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

He should be doubly chuffed with that:

1. His prowess has trickled down as far as the Guardian.
2. Looks like they spelt his name right!
