Yes, he showed what he can do - and what he might become - when he swung the ball at decent pace in the second innings. Patterson is now only five times as good!

Being serious, isn't it great to see these young bowlers developing and improving? Perhaps we'll manage the transition as the Fab Four are gradually replaced.

In theory (I know that in reality not everyone goes on to fulfill their potential but we can hope!) succession planning is looking good:
Coad for Patterson
Wiley for sidebottom
Fisher for Brooks
Waite for Bresnan
Warner for Plunkett
There's our 30+ players sorted and we're good for another 10 years. If only it was that simple!!
