Fine margins

So, Worcestershire's tied match with Northampton turned out to be the difference between us having a home semi-final or the trip back from Taunton to play the RLC quarters (our NRR being better than theirs).

I wonder if in that match there was an uncalled short run, or no-ball, or a fielder with his ankle on the boundary rope for an unsignalled four?

Form, class, captaincy, team selection ... but cricket's results can hang on the flap of a butterfly's wings.

Or indeed Durham's 2 point deduction which has cost them a place at the expense of Notts!!

Not a phrase you ever expected to see on the wrf prior to the end of last year!

Sorry but it was our poor performance against Warwickshire that cost us. Worcestershire simply better and more consistent than us throughout (and they beat us)

Although Worcs were pretty ordinary in this game to be fair:

We have nobody else to blame but ourselves for not going straight into a home semifinal. A lacklustre performance against Worcester and an even poorer one at Edgbaston with most of England stars failing and wrong team selection ie leaving out Coad and Fisher, cost us top spot. It will be very tough now but good experience for our young players without the international quintet.

Alibor - who would you have left out in the Warwickshire game to allow us to play Coad and Fisher?

When I saw the title my first reaction was to think "What's Gale been fined for now"?
