Essex v Surrey
Somerset v Hampshire

Glamorgan v Durham
Kent v Sussex
Northamptonshire v Worcestershire
Nottinghamshire v Gloucestershire

In division one both Hants and Surrey aren't doing so well. Can Essex keep this up all season?

Essex are doing very well considering they were promoted last season.

Hampshire`s good start not looking so rosy now!!

Division One looks wide open - 5 or 6 of the sides could win it, and any of the 8 could go down.

Could do with a 2 dayer when we turn up! Get the lads back home for the biggie against Surrey.

Think somebody at Surrey should talk Sangakkara into continuing for another season at least. If he's past it i don't know what that says about 99% of the other CC batsmen.

Pujara soon back into the runs, I wish he was playing for us.

Surely Notts have got enough talent already to bounce straight back up.

Had a really pleasant day at Trent Bridge yesterday in lovely sunshine. Great knocks by Pujara & Lumb but particularly enjoyed Pujaras it was real quality.

Two Yorkshire U17 games (50 overs) at Weetwood this week - Durham on Tuesday, Cheshire on Thursday - in Group 1A of the ECB Cup.

Yorkshire and Cheshire haven't played yet in the competition; Durham and Lancashire have both beaten Derbyshire.

To pick up on a couple of earlier comments...

Regarding Sangakkara - why would you stop doing something when you're still the best in the world at it? Or almost. Most of us have no talents. The only thing I can do as well as Sangakkara bats, is to sleep!

On Somerset 'doctoring' pitches, I'll happily say 99 for that GP, anytime. It's a welcome change from the sort of pitch we've historically had down there, and which we saw replicated at Old Trafford last week. Hampshire are currently 56 for 0 second time round, and getting their noses in front. Mason Crane took 0 for 44 on a pitch enjoyed by the other spinners.

Meanwhile, at Derby: Leics 619, Derbys 287 for 1 at lunch day 3. Oh joy! Why no points deduction?

Looks like Hampshire are going to win, after being 81-6 at lunch on the first day. Some comeback that!!

Crane not looking great on a pitch where somersets spinners took 7 and 10 wickets and Dawson so far has 6, Crane has 2 up to now. One of them was quite incredible though, a horrible half tracker that yorked Elgar as it dipped for its second bounce and bowled him!

Well, Hampshire have won (Crane 5-for) and if Somerset's turning pitches are a strategy, it's a plan that's not working, so far. Their problem is that they're losing the games at Taunton and, in bowler-friendly conditions, they're not getting any bonus points either.

Essex continue to punch above their perceived weight. I don't know how you begin to predict either end of the table this season. I do know Yorkshire need to win a couple of games soon, before winning becomes pressure.

Fair play to Crane, wrapping up the innings. Still not convinced he'll get too many games ahead of Dawson and there can't be many championship wickets that'll be crying out for 2 spinners. Cracking win for Hampshire after the way things were looking midway through day 1, an almost impossible league to call at the moment, Warwickshire & Somerset seem to be struggling but nothing to chose between the others, if anyone can win 3 (maybe even 2) from their next 4 they'll be in a great position.

What a remarkable record Worcestershire have this season. Played 12, won 10, 1 nr, lost 1. 4 from 4 in the CC!!

Essex have only lost 1 match in all competitions this season as well.

Also, Stu, they [Worcs] seem to be doing it with 10 genuine home-grown players (you may quibble about K-Cadmore, but he was recruited very young) plus Nathan Lyon - and what a fantastic signing he is!

Steve Rhodes walks on water.

Taking Kevin Sharp on to the Worcestershire staff looks to have been a very good move.

Looks like Durhams chances of getting out of Division Two have almost gone now, after their very harsh points deduction.

They needed to get off to a flyer to have any hope, but they have now lost 3 out of their first 4 and are already 128 points behind the league leaders Notts. Worcs and Kent, along with Notts, remain unbeaten and two of those 3 will surely get promoted.

If Yorkshire should take special measures in terms of the pitch to counter the Lancashire captain in the Roses match would it be a case of "Doctored - Livingstone I presume"?

Livingstone, I presume, will revert back to the ranks as Croft is now back in action.

We a need a pitch with pace and carry for the seam bowlers as that is our strong suit.

Might be a bit uncomfortable on the first morning if inserted but we should have the players to prevail.
