"Can't work out the time-zones but the live timings will fall right for some TV audiences in some part of the world."

Nice for Western Canada - I knock off work around 4pm PST, which would be just about when Auntie starts showing highlights.

Gutted for JB, what more does he have to do before he replaces Roy?

England look like they will get away with this one, but.

I have no experience in cricket but in life I know that often when you compromise and do something you know to be wrong, because you hate to admit you are wrong, then it's quite likely to bite you.

They should not have picked Roy, picking Roy meant that they had to pick an unfit Stokes as batting cover.

Doubts about Stokes ability to bowl 10 overs meant they had to pick an extra Seamer, Jake Ball instead of a specialist spinner Adil Rashid.

Woakes injury may have meant that Stokes had to bowl more overs than was good for him to the detriment of his fitness further down the line.

The Jason Roy problem, that led to the compromise has still not been resolved and will roll on into the next match. It was a bloody awful stroke.

Well, this is the first time I've seen a team absolutely cruise to an 8 wicket and be accused of getting away with it!

So pleased for Joe, I hope his ankle isn't too bad. He has been getting in and then out recently but to go on get your highest ODI score when injured shows some mettle.

With regards to JB I think he will get a game, either through injury or because Roy fails just too many times (I don't think a couple of more single figure scores can seen him survive to play the semis).

Yes, delighted to see him finish the job. So good this batting line up.

Geoff - Rashid was left out because it was felt that Bangladesh are more vulnerable against pace than spin (quite sensibly). Ball did not bowl as well as he can but England still restricted them to a par score before knocking off the runs with ridiculous ease. They did not get away with anything.

A good win against an improving side.
Much tougher challenges ahead.

It was stated today that England would be allowed a replacement if Woakes is injured.

I was under the impression that this was not allowed once the squad was named, as this is the argument used by Team England to justify Bairstows non-appearances, as they state that he has to be in the squad to cover for injuries to any of the batters.

If this is the case, that replacements are allowed for injuries, then Jonny can be sent back to play for us, does not need to be carrying the drinks, and can then be called upon, if needed, at short notice, to replace any injured batsman. They have stated on numerous occasions that he will not get a game unless someone gets injured.

Apparently Jake Ball is the first bowler in ODI history to concede 80 runs in an innings 3 times in a 12 month period.

Stu going off on a wild tangent there about the ECB and Team England and their decisions when all I commented on was today's canter against Bangladesh.
It's almost as if you're ignoring what I write and just spouting off on your agenda.

Is there any way that anti-ECB rants can have their own thread? It would be good if England match threads were about the actual cricket and it might mean less aggro on the forum.

Hope Root's injury isn't too bad. Wouldn't put it past Team ECB to call Ballance up to "The Squad" if he has to sit out a few games...

If Woakes is out of the squad that will be a big loss for England, especially opening the bowling and in the death overs.

Wood did well in the last few overs v SA at Southampton and Plunkett did well today so that is something.

I'd draft in Broad as a replacement, but I'm sure Finn, Toby Roland Jones and possibly Tom Curran will also be in the selectors minds.

Looking further ahead to the forthcoming Test series Woakes' injury looks like an even bigger concern, with Stokes' mystery discomfort when bowling, and a perennial question over Anderson's fitness these days.

Surely Roland Jones is the obvious replacement as called up to the last match v the Saffers.

As for slating a team winning by 8 wickets I don't see anyone slating 11 players and a team can always be improved if there are better players on the outside not being picked.

ROY needs a spell out the firing line and Bairstow can open and get just as many runs. They may offiyrse pick Billings to do it instead as his drink making skills are not as good as Johnny's in this squad.

I think I would be surprised if posters had not spotted the obvious flaws and weaknesses in the current team
