With everything gpoing off it slipped my mind we are playing today.
Think we should put Somerset into bat and put them under pressure.

No way will we be bowling first without a toss.

Last game at Taunton 30 wickets fell to spin. Both teams will want to bat first, Rafiq and Carver will be the key

Yes, a great morning for a game of cricket, Steve, though I've got sore feet from yesterday and am far too tired to drive to Taunton. Some wonderful results yesterday, Yorkshire's defeat of Middlesex II prominent amongst them.

I can't see the pitch from here and it sounds like overhead conditions are screaming to have a bat. It's only a 50/50 chance though as we have to win the toss first.

I would go for a bit of stability and take control from the start and stick them in.

They might be a bit groggy if they stayed up watching the election results.

For what it's worth, we stuck them in last season and very nearly ended up losing.

We won the toss and will bat first.

Carver, Waite and Patto come in for Bresnan, Brooks and Coad.

Surely we would want to bat first with that line up? Looks like Coad must be injured, so the choice came down to Brooks or Patto. Seam attack isn't the most incisive we have fielded, so you imagine that the thinking is that the spinners are going to do the job for us.

Ok - batting first. Makes sense you would think.

That looks a very weak bowling attack with no Brooks & Coad, only 1 out and out "strike" bowler in Siddy. No wonder we are batting first!! Need 550 now, to give the bowlers a chance.

I'd have kept Brooks in just for his batting and left out Rafiq

After five balls, we're going at 14.4 an over.

It could very difficult for our attack to bowl Somerset out twice, given that the three bowlers who come in for Bressy, Brooks and Coad have taken all of four Championship wickets between them this season vs 50 for "BBC."

I just have a feeling this might be Karl Carver's game.

5 maidens in a row. now a spinner on. described as a worn pitch, the same one as somersets last game.

Spinner on for 12th over.....

Which goes for 10 runs including a 6!

And, disregarding last week's heroic grind at Headingley, Adam has perished early again, after a few lusty blows. Dej√° vu all over again, I'm afraid.

Is there a case for suggesting that he consider taking a mild sedative before opening the innings in 4 day games?

At 34/0 I thought we might be on for a rare 50 over partnership. How wrong was I.

34/2 both openers gone.

A wicket for a spinner in the 15th over of the game - at Taunton! What's going on?
