Can't let them get too far ahead come on Yorkshire finish it.

And Carver finishes. Baffling how Patterson bowled 20 overs and Carver just 2.

Game on anyway!

So Carver finally bowls and gets a wicket in his second over. Why did he not bowl earlier?

So eventually Carver gets a bowl and the final wicket within 2 overs, conceding just 2 runs. Would love to know what the thinking behind that was!

I'm a fan of GB's captaincy so far, but I think it quite possible Carver is the better of our two selected spinners. Why he wasn't tried sooner I cannot understand. However still very much in it. Need a real innings from one of the top four, and support from all.

When I said I thought it might be Carver's match, I had assumed he would actually bowl.

Very strange selection by Yorkshire - only 2 frontline seamer.

Why not Brooks or Bresnan?

Just as puzzling is why Roy continues to play after yet another abject failiure. Why not let Bairstow have a go today considering that we are through.

Bresnan was given leave of absence due to an imminent birth but Brooks could have played

Having them 114-6 it was poor to let them get passed our score before using our 5th bowler - why was Carver not tried earlier? The expected failure of Roy yet again makes it even more frustrating that we cannot use Bairstow. Well done Adil Rashid again.

Dare I say, Lyth again playing with some restraint. Come on Adam, concentrate hard mate, choose the right ball to hit and you can win it for us!

Indeed, be it restraint or more intelligence, it's definitely what is required in this context.

Seems hard work now. 8 overs for 7 runs and a wicket by their spin twins. This is going to be tough.

in that case i should be given credit for his century last week, i called it when he was 40n.o.

Not sure these are the right tactics.

when somerset threatened to get away from us they were scoring freely....

what is the optimum here? 7 runs in 10 overs then get out or a quick 20 in 5 overs then get out?

why are we scoring so slowly, is it good bowling or overly defensive batting?

Someone mentioned Jonny not playing today above. He has now batted once in the last 28 days. One of the best best players in the world sitting doing nothing. He must be fuming.

The SKY guys reckon Jonny will play in the semi, but he has not played for weeks, so can we really expect any improvement on Roy.
