The Cricket Australia press release says the players arrive in Bangladesh on the 18th August and the last test finishes on the 8th September. He'd miss our last T20 group match, any knockout T20s and the championship game against Middlesex. He could miss the game against Surrey too.
Think it was always the working assumption that he would only be with us until then - after all he is part of the settled Test squad. So you would hope that the club has already sounded out potential replacement.
Yorkshire will be hoping for a swift resolution to the ongoing contract dispute so we know where we stand. It has the potential to run and run until the start of the tour. Would be interesting to see the club's stance should this happen. Would they thank Handscombe for his time and bring in a replacement anyway so as to avoid potentially being left in the lurch should the tour go ahead at the last minute? Or sound out potential replacements to be ready at short notice with a view to keeping Handscombe if the tour is cancelled?
