We bat another hour for 40 more runs. They then bat until tea for a lead of 420. We win by 4 wickets with 6 overs to spare tomorrow. Believe.

Hoping and believing we can have 3 good sessions today.

Middlesex have a good bowling attack and if the wicket becomes more difficult to play then our batsmen can only do so much.

If they all take their lead from the Captain and knuckle down and give it their best shot we can't ask any more, perhaps a bit of luck will help.

We do hear about Lords wickets going to sleep and if that happens then life might be easier.

I think they will enforce the follow on because of the Essex match, but if Middlesex do bat again they will want to leave themselves the best part of 4 sessions to bowl us out.

If Gary and Siddy can take a decent wedge out of the first session then they might become a bit twitchy and go at it too hard.

Looking forward to it, as always.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are we not a long way behind the over rate?

first day finished half an hour late and yesterday morning we only bowled 30 overs

If we were to follow on and lose by an innings we will not get the chance to rectify that and could end up with fewer points than when we started.

Surely that has to be our main concern at this stage.

Looks like another sweltering day in London.
Think only about 10% chance of us getting something out of this game after yesterdays woeful last session.
I would make us follow on if I was Middlesex but suspect they wont.

I am sure they will not enforce the follow-on. Let us bowl today in the sweltering heat, then they can bowl tomorrow when it will be, according to the forecast, 10 degrees cooler.

Really undecided about this follow on. On the one had if they did bat and declare at tea the prospect of facing four sessions isn't as daunting as six. (I think we'd have to bat out pretty much all of the remaining sessions anyway as they could go into T20 mode for any target we might set.)

On the other hand i'm not sure i'd like to come out to bat after spending another few hours in the field in this heat.

My instinct is that they won't enforce the follow on.

I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure the over rate will be alright. Unlike Middlesex it has never really been a problem for us.

Late start on Monday due to 2 minutes silence, lots of extra drinks breaks due to the heat. The umpires have had to be sympathetic, you can't deny the batsmen opportunities to get their helmets off and cool down in 30 degree heat.

Think of the stink if one collapsed, our match wasn't the last to finish yesterday.

Peter, Yorkshire's over rate at the end of the Middlesex innings according to the scoreboard was -1, it had dropped from -2 at the start of the days play as Rashid had come on.

Middlesex's was -2 when I left 20 minutes before the end yesterday.

As Geoff has just said surely the need for extra drinks breaks in this sort of weather should be taken into account.

Not there today but will go tomorrow if the outcome looks in the Ballance!

The batting point is welcome. Another is probably too much to hope for.

Commentators saying large cracks appearing on the wicket.

Logical as bowlers fresh still.

Chance for Steves prediction of a Brook century before lunch now....

Was there a case to be made to open with Lyth and Brook? Surely Alex Lees is set for an extended run in the 2nd XI...

Gary Balance inspired choice as Captain and standout player of the season so far, hats off to you

Lots to play for a Draw from here would be a massive achievement and a blow to Middlesex

A little surprised they enforced.

Won't be much fun for them chasing 150 tomorrow eve!

182 overs left in the match at the start of our innings. I reckon we're going to need to bat for atleast 150 of them.

... and we lose our first wicket after 6.4 overs of the 150.

...and the second one after 7 overs.

Looks like a mighty big stuffing on the cards.

Brook not living up to his impressive innings of yesterday.

All over by tea.

--------------------------------------

Lees is now out.

Ok, all over by lunch.
