Is this squad correct - if no Shaun Marsh ( injured ) then surely need another batsman like Lees or even Hodd ??

I haven't seen any squad confirmation on Twitter or the OS. Agree that Lees should come in for Marsh.

I feel this is a must-win game.

agree this is a must win game after last nights disappointment

defeat tonight and the concern is the season implodes fully

we really need to change the bowling approach - continuing with the set format is not working

Another batsman.

I think we could use the above squad to increase our bowling options and leave ourselves enough batting.

If we plan on 2 overs each from bowlers who can be vulnerable, Willey, Rafiq, Plunkett and Fisher, of course amending the plans depending on how they go.

I think Rashid's batting is a little bit under used. Of course in a perfect game he never gets in.

Lyth
Kohler-Cadmore
Willey
Sarfraz
Leaning
Rashid
Bresnan
Rafiq
Plunkett
Patterson
Fisher

Usually proviso if they do bring in Lees, get on or get out.

Agree it is a most-win match. To qualify we need 3 wins from our last 4 matches, lose tonight and I honestly can not see us winning ALL of our last three.

Plunkett is injured according to todays YP with a tweaked hamstring. He is becoming as much use to us as a chocolate teapot - he is either injured, or if not injured, away with England.

We should be bowling Lyth or someone similar, for the first over, similar to what just about every other county do nowadays.

Lees for Marsh tonight will be our only change.

Just to confirm that contrary to the info in toy OP, Lees does come into squad tonight and Wainman is not involved. Plunkett remains in the squad and will have a fitness test prior to the start of the match. I would also just bring Lees in for Marsh (as well as Plunkett for Fisher if fit); I don't think we need more than 6 bowling options.

Durham bat. Lees in, Plunkett not fit. Those that want to see us try chasing have got their wish. Let's see if we can win a game of T20 batting second for the first time in two years...

Well we are trying something different with four different bowlers for first 4 overs, conceding less than run per ball. Keep it going!

Decent powerplay

August 4 2017, 6:53 PM

Well it was mainly Bresnan and Willey as usual but broken up with an early over by Rafiq and Fisher.

So far so good.

Looks like another Collingwood show in front of the home supporters. Getting him out soon will be critical to our hopes.

Rafiq bowling 18th over 😡 Lack of wickets has helped them to build challenging total. Bresnan only 3 overs - very strange!? Less than 8 an over should be achievable with good batting performance.

Nothing total really to say they finished 3 down.

Nothing total which most teams would chase down comfortably. Not confident about us doing so though.

Good Willey

August 4 2017, 7:50 PM

Well it might end up being the lowest first innings total tonight. Let's hope it's the lowest total in this match.

Decent 4 overs by David Willey, deserves a chuck up to slightly even the score.

Both Durham's opening bowlers, James Weighell and Usman Arshad, are products of the Yorkshire Schools' system.

Chewing up balls

August 4 2017, 8:39 PM

Both batsmen chewing up balls.

I Don't mind them taking it deep but don't let the run rate get to 10 and then get out and leave it to someone else.

Can't help feeing that Lees poor running and lack of footwork could be having impact, but maybe good that is is now run out. Too many dot balls and not enough boundaries increases pressure and now Willey has gone. Looking dodgy.
